Enabling verification with double opt-in

To enhance the security of your subscription process, you can enable email verification in the “Subscribe to Download” plugin.

First, toggle the “Verification” option to enable email verification for subscribers before they can access the locked content. This will open up several related fields that need to be configured.

Choose your preferred verification method from the “Verification Type” dropdown, which includes options like “Verification through link” and “Verification through code.”

Next, enter the time in hours after which the verification link or code will expire in the “Verification Expire Duration” field; the default is set to 1 year.

You can specify what should happen after the user verifies their email by selecting an option from the “After Verification” dropdown.

Options include showing an unlock message or redirecting to the form page.

If you choose to show an unlock message, customize the message that will be displayed once the subscriber’s email has been verified.

For example, you might use a message like:

"Congratulations!! 
Your email has been verified and the locked content has been unlocked.
Please refresh the previous page to view the locked content."

Verification Through Link

After clicking on link, it will display a message.

Verification Through Code

Now copy that code and paste it.

Enabling Double Opt-in

Enabling the “Double Opt-In” option adds another layer of security.

This option ensures that the unlock link is sent to subscribers only after they click the subscription confirmation link sent to their email.

Finally, customize the confirmation message that will be sent to subscribers who have opted in.

An example message could be:

Congratulations!!

Your email has been verified and we have sent the unlock link in your email.

Please check your inbox for the unlock link.

Thank you

After setting up the message, when a user subscribes, they will receive an email with a confirmation link.

The subscriber needs to click on this confirmation link to verify their subscription.

Now, check your mail for confirmation link and click on the link to confirm your subscription.

Upon clicking the link, a confirmation message will be displayed in a new tab.

Once the email has been verified, the subscriber should check their inbox again for the unlock link provided in the confirmation email. By clicking this unlock link, the subscriber can access the locked content.

By following these steps, you can ensure a secure and user-friendly subscription process for your subscribers.
